Welcome to Year 6!

Mrs King and Mrs Grant

We are delighted to welcome you to the Year 6 class page. This year, your child will be taught by Mrs King, with support from Mrs Grant, as they embark on an exciting and memorable final year of primary school.

Year 6 is a time to grow, lead, and shine—both academically and personally. Pupils will deepen their understanding across subjects while developing independence and resilience in preparation for their transition to secondary school. Highlights of the year include our residential trip to Stubbers, the end-of-year school play, and engaging topics in our foundation curriculum such as electricity, evolution, our planet, the Windrush generation, and war at home.

As a REAch2 school, we proudly embed sustainability into our learning, particularly through our science and geography curriculum. While SATs in May are an important milestone, we approach them as part of a broader journey—one that builds confidence and celebrates progress.

To support learning at home, we use a range of online platforms including Seesaw (fortnightly homework), Times Tables Rock Stars, and weekly spelling and maths tasks.

We look forward to a year filled with achievement, creativity, and collaboration. Let’s make it one to remember!
